While Jenness was finishing her Undergraduate Degree, she had another detrimental setback in her health that nearly ended her life in 2009. With only an hour remaining in her requirements, Jenness was determined to finish her degree, even though her prospects of survival were grave. David Corman, her voice coach and Choir director, in addition to other OC Faculty members, rallied around her to help her achieve that goal despite the harrowing circumstances.

After performing with Jenness in the “Jenness & Friends Concert: It’s Time!,” Eric Baker, Department Chair & Instructor of Music at Odessa College, invited Jenness to come and speak to the student body about her experiences with illness during her tenure at Odessa College, and share what kind of lengths the Odessa College Faculty will go to keep their students’ dreams alive despite all overwhelming odds. Come hear Jenness’s story on Tuesday, Feb. 6, @ 11:30am in the Jack Rogers’ Auditorium on the Odessa College Campus.
